Join an award-winning Healthcare Communications agency as they actively recruit a Commercial Director to become a permanent member of their team.
🏢 The Company & Role:
You will join a full-service Healthcare Communications agency working across a broad range of healthcare communications, supporting pharmaceutical and healthcare clients across both strategic and creative projects. The agency delivers a varied mix of work spanning medical education, healthcare advertising, digital, events, creative campaigns, and patient-focused communications, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work across a diverse client portfolio and a wide range of deliverables. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, yet established agency at an important stage of its development, with the successful candidate playing a key role in shaping its commercial strategy and continued growth.
🚀 Role:
As Commercial Director, you will sit at a senior level within the agency, overseeing Account Directors while taking responsibility for account development, organic growth, and new business.
You will be responsible for strengthening existing client relationships, identifying opportunities to grow accounts and developing new business opportunities, while providing senior commercial leadership to the client services team. This position will be perfect for an experienced Healthcare Communications professional who enjoys working within a smaller, entrepreneurial agency environment and wants genuine influence over the commercial direction and future growth of the business.

👩 💼 Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support Account Directors, providing senior commercial and client leadership.
- Lead and develop senior client relationships.
- Identify and develop opportunities for organic account growth.
- Lead new business opportunities, pitches, and commercial proposals.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships.
- Develop commercial strategies across existing and prospective clients.
- Oversee budgets, commercial performance, and resource planning.
- Work closely with creative, strategy, planning, and production teams.
- Support and develop the wider client services team.
- Contribute to the agency's wider commercial strategy and future direction.
- Help identify new opportunities to support the continued growth of the business.

📋 Requirements:
- Significant experience within Healthcare Communications, Medical Education, or Healthcare Advertising.
- Proven experience leading or overseeing Account Directors or senior client services teams.
- Strong track record of account development, organic growth, and new business.
- Excellent commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets and commercial performance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior clients.
- Experience leading pitches and developing commercial proposals.
- Strategic, entrepreneurial, and commercially minded.
- Experience working across a varied range of healthcare communications deliverables.
- Experience within a boutique, independent, or smaller agency environment is highly desirable.
- Collaborative team player who works effectively across creative, strategy, planning, and production.
- Familiarity with ABPI regulations.
