Commercial Director – EV Charging & Energy Infrastructure

UK | Hybrid

A growing EV charging and energy infrastructure business is looking to bring in a senior commercial leader to help shape its next phase of growth.

The business has already built a presence in the market and is now looking to accelerate customer acquisition, develop larger strategic partnerships and strengthen its commercial proposition across the UK.

This is not a role focused purely on managing an existing sales team. The successful person will be expected to play a visible role in the market, open doors with key customers, influence commercial strategy and help build the structure needed to support further growth.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take a lead role across the commercial side of the business, working closely with the leadership team on where and how the company grows. Your remit will include:

  • Developing and executing the commercial growth plan
  • Identifying new markets, customers and revenue opportunities
  • Building relationships with major fleet, property, infrastructure and commercial customers
  • Developing strategic partnerships and routes to market
  • Leading major bids, tenders and commercial negotiations
  • Improving pipeline quality, forecasting and sales discipline
  • Shaping pricing and commercial propositions
  • Supporting market expansion across the UK and, longer term, Europe
  • Building and developing the commercial team as the business scales
  • Working closely with delivery, operations, product and technical teams

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The opportunity

This is a chance to join a business at a point where the commercial strategy is still being shaped.

There is room for the successful person to have a genuine say in:

  • Which markets the business prioritises
  • How the sales team is structured
  • Which partnerships are developed
  • How key accounts are approached
  • How the business expands geographically

For someone who enjoys building and shaping rather than stepping into a finished structure, it offers a broad remit and a high level of influence.
