About the Role
We are recruiting for a long-established and highly respected organisation looking to recruit an exceptional Commercial Director for their Graduation Services.
Responsibilities
Responsible for driving Graduation Services’ revenue growth and market share, bridging strategy and execution, aligning teams from bid writing, marketing, and Events & Experience to maximise profitability, manage pricing strategies, and identify new business opportunities.
Working closely with the Group Head of Graduation Services, the Board of Directors and senior leaders across the organisation, the Commercial Director will demonstrate:
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills.
- The ability to build effective relationships internally and externally, and ability to inspire confidence.
- Leadership and ambassadorial skills with an ability to demonstrate a flexible leadership style – consensual and participative but decisive when warranted.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:
- Key contribution to strategic vision of a highly competitive organisation.
- Revenue and sales oversight / account management.
- Direct "go-to-market" operations, managing client relationships, and converting market preference into profitable sales.
- Build partnerships and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, clients and customers.
- Manage the performance and contribution of direct reports, providing guidance and motivation, and mentor their development to drive maximum performance.
- Set pricing strategies, optimise profit margins, analyse financial performance, and manage budgets alongside the Head of GS and CFO.
- Set the framework for commercial bids, leading the preparation.
- Conduct ongoing market research to stay ahead of industry trends, client engagement and experience trends, competitor moves, and emerging business opportunities.
- Ensure the company is aware of macro market changes and latest competitor offerings.
- Hold ultimate responsibility for the standards of event delivery and ensure that appropriate assurance and management processes are in place.
- Ensure effective mechanisms are in place to gain organisational learning from complaints, errors, incidents and near misses.
- Contribute to ensuring that quality is embedded in the culture of the organisation.

Location and Work Arrangement
Based in the South East, this role is flexible and involves some home working as well as UK travel to other UK sites/locations.
Salary
Salary bracket - £105k - £120k + benefits package
