Commercial Director - Personal Care

Are you an ambitious commercial leader with deep FMCG retail experience and a passion for purpose-driven growth? This is a rare opportunity to shape the next chapter of a pioneering, ethical consumer brand entering a major new phase of expansion.
This organisation is employee-owned, BCorp certified, and has spent over 35 years leading the way in non-toxic, ethical personal care. Now, with a strong foundation in specialist retail & grocery and a growing global footprint, they’re investing in the future by building a modern commercial engine across retail, e-commerce, and new channels - UK & Global.
They’re looking for a Commercial Director to take ownership of revenue, margin, and channel strategy, working directly with the CEO to turn ambition into a clear, deliverable commercial plan.
The Opportunity
- Lead and grow the retail business:
- Lead and develop a UK/EU Business Development & Account Management team
- Align strategy with a senior commercial leader in North America
- Build strong relationships with key retail partners
- Lead major negotiations and secure new listings
- Identify and unlock new market and channel opportunities

Own commercial performance:
- Set revenue targets and lead delivery
- Optimise pricing, margin, and trade spend in partnership with Finance
- Work with Operations to balance cost, supply, and profitability
- Use data to drive smart decisions on promotions and channel mix

Scale the e-commerce channel:
- Own e-commerce performance and growth strategy
- Partner with Marketing to turn engagement into revenue
- Work with Digital to improve conversion, retention, and customer value
- Ensure e-commerce becomes a meaningful, profitable channel

Set and drive strategy:
- Work closely with the CEO to define where and how the business grows
- Build a focused commercial plan that aligns sales, marketing, ops, and finance
- Play a key role in shaping the next phase of the organisation

What You’ll Bring
- 8+ years UK FMCG Commercial leadership experience
- Proven track record of delivering revenue growth
- Strong understanding of pricing, margin management, and commercial levers
- Confidence leading customer negotiations and key accounts
- Exposure to e-commerce / DTC and performance marketing
- A commercial, strategic mindset with the ability to switch between high-level thinking and hands-on execution
- A collaborative, empowering leadership style
