Job Title: Commercial Director – Sales & Customer Growth

Experience: 8+ Years

Location: London

Employment Type: Full-time

Working Pattern: 5 days per week, with a minimum of 4 days in the office

About Optimiser

Optimiser is a growing technology company providing a connected technology ecosystem to organisations across a range of industries, including Hospitality, Membership & Charities, Media and Real Estate.

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director – Sales & Customer Growth to take ownership of the commercial and customer-facing side of the business.

This is a senior but highly hands-on role, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to shape and build Optimiser’s sales function as the business grows. You will personally lead new business development, sales meetings, product demonstrations, follow-ups, proposals and negotiations, while also leading our existing Customer Success team and building your own sales team over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Optimiser’s sales and new business strategy.
  • Personally generate, develop and convert new business opportunities.
  • Lead product demonstrations, sales meetings and commercial negotiations.
  • Build and manage a structured sales pipeline and forecast.
  • Develop relationships with senior decision-makers and strategic accounts.
  • Lead and develop the Customer Success team.
  • Drive customer retention, upsell and account growth.
  • Provide senior oversight of major customer issues and escalations.
  • Develop partnerships and new routes to market.
  • Work closely with Product to provide structured customer and market feedback.
  • Build the future sales and commercial team as the business grows.
  • Reduce unnecessary day-to-day commercial dependency on the Founder & CEO.

Requirements

We are particularly interested in candidates from:

  • Hospitality technology
  • Hotel group commercial leadership
  • B2B SaaS
  • Enterprise technology sales

Experience with technology such as CRM, PMS, Revenue Management, Meetings & Events, distribution or other hospitality platforms would be a strong advantage.

You should have:

  • A strong track record of winning new business.
  • Experience managing complex B2B sales.
  • Strong senior customer relationship skills.
  • Strong pipeline management and forecasting discipline.
  • Experience with customer retention and account growth.
  • Experience leading or developing teams.
  • Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills.
  • The confidence to take ownership and make decisions.
