Company Description

NextRoof is an AI-powered enterprise property management platform designed for the realities of modern real estate. It is seeking a UK Market & Commercial Co-Founder. The platform connects agents, landlords, tenants, contractors, developers, and investors on one intelligent system that reduces property management time from weeks to hours.

NextRoof’s proprietary Kiki AI automates core workflows such as rental valuations, arrears monitoring, lead scoring, and photo-based maintenance triage. The Tenant Passport feature transforms tenant referencing into a fast, data-rich process using identity verification, open banking, and rental payment history. With blockchain-anchored Digital Handshakes and support for multiple markets, currencies, and local regulations, NextRoof is built to operate globally while staying compliant locally.

Role Description

As the UK Market & Commercial Co-Founder, you will work directly with the founder to establish NextRoof's UK commercial presence from the ground up. NextRoof is currently pre-funding and pre-launch, with the core platform built but without a live UK property inventory or established commercial traction. Your role is therefore not to manage an existing commercial organisation — it is to build the initial commercial engine that will become one.

  • Lead the development and execution of NextRoof's UK go-to-market strategy
  • Identify and acquire initial property supply
  • Develop relationships with landlords, letting agents, property managers, developers, and strategic partners
  • Generate the company's first pilots, commercial opportunities, and market traction
  • Work directly with the founder on fundraising by helping identify investors, develop investor relationships, generate introductions, strengthen the investment narrative, and prepare commercial evidence for the fundraising process

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

As an early founding partner, you will have genuine influence over the company's commercial strategy, positioning, partnerships, customer acquisition model, and future team structure. You will contribute to product and market feedback where relevant, but your primary responsibility will be turning the existing technology into a commercially validated UK business.

This is an equity-first founding opportunity. NextRoof is not currently offering a cash salary during the pre-funding phase. This is an opportunity to join before the UK market is built, with meaningful founder equity and the ability to shape NextRoof's commercial strategy, partnerships, fundraising, and future leadership team from day one.

Following successful funding and/or agreed commercial milestones, the role is expected to transition into a paid executive position, potentially as COO / Chief Commercial Officer & Co-Founder.

Full-time commitment is preferred, although a minimum four-day-per-week commitment may be considered for an exceptional candidate during the pre-funding period.

Location: England, United Kingdom — London preferred; hybrid/flexible.

Qualifications

We are looking for an entrepreneurial commercial operator who can build from zero rather than manage an established function.

Essential

  • Proven experience in business development, partnerships, sales, commercial growth, entrepreneurship, or market entry.
  • Strong understanding of, or demonstrable ability to build relationships within, the UK property ecosystem.
  • Track record of creating opportunities and converting relationships into pilots, partnerships, customers, or other measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in an ambiguous, resource-constrained environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership and execution.
  • Willingness to work in an equity-first founding environment during the pre-funding phase.

Highly desirable

  • Experience in PropTech, real estate, fintech, SaaS, marketplaces, or another technology-enabled industry.
  • Existing relationships with landlords, letting agents, property managers, developers, investors, or strategic property organisations.
  • Experience taking a product, company, or market from zero to initial traction.
  • Experience with strategic partnerships or enterprise business development.
  • Exposure to fundraising, investor relationships, or venture-backed startups.
  • Understanding of UK property-market dynamics and/or regulated technology environments.

You don't need to have previously held the title "COO" or "Co-Founder". We are more interested in what you have built, opened, launched, sold, or scaled than the title on your previous business card.

Compensation

Founding equity of 5–15%, subject to experience, commitment, scope, and the final co-founder agreement. No cash salary during the current pre-funding phase. Following successful funding and/or agreed commercial milestones, the role is expected to transition into a paid executive position, potentially as COO / Chief Commercial Officer & Co-Founder. Compensation is expected to transition to a paid executive arrangement following successful funding and/or agreed commercial milestones.
