JR Pet Products is one of the UK's leading natural dog treat and food brands. As we continue to grow across the UK and internationally, we're looking for an exceptional Commercial Director – Sales & Marketing to join our leadership team.
This is a full-time, office-based leadership role. We are not offering hybrid or remote working. Our business is built on collaboration, fast decision-making and working together as one team, so we're looking for someone who wants to be part of the business every day.
This is not a corporate role. We're a lean, ambitious business where everyone rolls their sleeves up, wears multiple hats and works together to get the job done. We move quickly, make decisions without unnecessary bureaucracy, and believe that success is shared—we win together as a team.
We're looking for a commercially driven leader who understands that sustainable growth comes from building brands, developing people, creating outstanding customer relationships and making smart commercial decisions—not simply chasing numbers.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll lead the commercial direction of the business, taking full ownership of the Sales & Marketing function and playing a key role in delivering our ambitious growth plans. You'll be responsible for the commercial P&L, driving profitable growth across both Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) and Business-to-Business (B2B) channels while ensuring our brand continues to strengthen in an increasingly competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the Sales & Marketing team to deliver ambitious growth targets.
- Own the commercial P&L, understanding the drivers of revenue, margin and profitability.
- Develop and execute sales strategies across both D2C and B2B channels.
- Drive growth across e-commerce, independent retailers, distributors and international markets.
- Lead and execute all marketing activity—from strategy through to delivery—including brand development, product launches, customer acquisition, digital marketing and trade campaigns, ensuring marketing directly drives commercial growth.
- Build and strengthen relationships with key customers, distributors and strategic partners.
- Analyse commercial performance, market trends and customer insights to identify opportunities and make informed commercial decisions.
- Represent JR Pet Products at trade shows, industry events and key customer meetings.
- Work closely with Operations and the wider leadership team to ensure the business delivers on its commercial objectives.
- Lead by example in a hands-on environment, rolling up your sleeves and getting involved wherever needed—because that's how we work.
About You:
- Proven experience in a senior Sales & Marketing or Commercial leadership role.
- Demonstrable success in driving profitable growth across both D2C and B2B channels.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience owning and managing a commercial P&L.
- A strategic thinker who is equally comfortable executing plans and leading from the front.
- An inspirational leader who develops people, builds high-performing teams and creates accountability.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced SME where priorities evolve quickly and everyone contributes.
- Commercially minded, customer-focused and highly results driven.
- Confident making decisions, solving problems and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Experience within FMCG, pet, food or consumer products would be advantageous.
