Commercial Director, UK & Europe | Beverages

London (hybrid)

This is a rare chance to build a beverages business across the UK and Europe with the pace of a start-up and the backing of one of the world's largest companies.

The business has strong brands, serious investment behind it, and a clear ambition to become a major player in UK and European soft drinks. France and the Netherlands are already trading, with Spain, Italy, and Germany opening in 2027. What it needs now is a commercial leader to turn that ambition into shelf space, distribution, and growth.

The role

Reporting to the CEO, UK & Europe, you'll own the commercial agenda across the region. You'll win and grow listings across UK grocery, convenience, wholesale, and foodservice, and build the route to market through distributors and partners across Europe. You'll also set the commercial framework, from pricing and trade investment to e-commerce, so the business grows profitably. You'll lead a lean, entrepreneurial sales team, and there's real scope for the role to grow into leading the wider beverages business as it scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for

  • A track record of winning shelf space and building distribution across UK and European markets, including listings that took real graft to land
  • A builder's mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and risk, and able to do a lot with a little
  • Experience driving growth through distributors, partners, and a small team rather than large internal infrastructure
  • Commercial depth across pricing, trade terms, and promotional investment, plus e-commerce
  • Resilience and cultural agility, as you'll be working within a global group with its own heritage and pace
  • Curiosity, a growth mindset, and an AI-first way of working, using data and tools to move quickly without a large insight function

Beverages experience is preferred, but we'll also consider strong commercial leaders from other FMCG categories. Our client cares more about attitude, appetite, and potential than ticking every box. You might be scaling a challenger brand now, be a strong number two ready to step up, or have moved from a large FMCG business into a growth environment and want a bigger platform.

Due to a high number of applicants, we are only able to respond to successful candidates
