Associate Director / Director – Quantity Surveying
Shropshire | Competitive Salary + Bonus + Benefits + Potential Equity
Ref: CK3687503
Not every Quantity Surveying role offers the opportunity to help build a business. This one does.
We are working with an ambitious and rapidly growing consultancy in Shropshire that is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Director or Director-level Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in its next phase of growth.
With an established client base, an exciting pipeline of work and ambitious plans for the future, this is an opportunity to join a business at a pivotal stage in its journey. The consultancy is building a strong reputation for delivering commercial and Quantity Surveying services across infrastructure, utilities, energy and renewable energy projects, working with major clients on technically challenging and commercially demanding programmes.
We are looking for someone who brings strong technical and commercial expertise, but equally importantly, the ambition, entrepreneurial mindset and leadership qualities to help grow and shape a successful consultancy business. For the right individual, there is also the potential to secure a future shareholding in the business.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Managing Director, you will take a leading role in developing the Quantity Surveying function, managing a small but growing team, strengthening client relationships and supporting the continued expansion of the business. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining project delivery, commercial management, people development and business growth. You will have the autonomy to influence how the business develops, contribute to strategic decisions and help build a team and service offering that can grow significantly over the coming years.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
