Commercial Disputes Lawyer (Interim Contract)
Location: Hybrid/London
Duration: 6+ months
Daily Rate: £550-£700 per day (Inside of IR35)
Start Date: ASAP
We are partnering with a leading UK business to recruit an experienced Commercial Disputes Lawyer on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level disputes lawyer to join a busy in-house legal team and play a key role in managing a broad range of litigation and dispute resolution matters within the Construction Sector.
The Role
Reporting into Senior Legal Counsel, you will support the progression and resolution of a varied caseload of commercial disputes, working closely with internal stakeholders and external legal advisers to achieve pragmatic and commercially focused outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and progressing a range of commercial disputes and litigation matters.
- Reviewing, analysing and reporting on dispute-related documentation and evidence.
- Assessing liability, quantum and litigation risk, with support from senior legal colleagues where required.
- Drafting key correspondence including letters of claim, responses and settlement communications.
- Supporting pre-action negotiation and dispute resolution strategies.
- Liaising with external law firms and managing legal spend effectively.
- Providing clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders.
- Assisting with litigation management processes, policies and internal training initiatives.
- Building effective relationships across the legal function and wider business.

About You
We are keen to hear from qualified solicitors with:
- Experience handling commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters.
- Strong drafting and analytical skills.
- The ability to manage matters with a degree of autonomy while knowing when to escalate issues.
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience gained either in private practice or an in-house legal team.
Construction disputes experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
