The Position
The Commercial Excellence Project Manager plays a key role in driving executional excellence across the Animal Health UK & Ireland business through the planning, coordination, and delivery of strategic Commercial Excellence initiatives.
Working closely with local and global stakeholders, the Commercial Excellence Project Manager coordinates key projects and business planning activities, ensuring alignment across teams, processes, and systems while supporting the successful delivery of business priorities and operational objectives.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a project-minded professional to further develop their project management, stakeholder engagement, and business partnering capabilities within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Combining strong organisational skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, the Commercial Excellence Project Manager plays a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered effectively, on time, and within budget.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Plan, coordinate, and support the delivery of Commercial Excellence projects across Animal Health UK & Ireland.
- Support the definition of project objectives and scope.
- Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements to support successful execution.
- Coordinate stakeholders, teams, and resources to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and support the implementation of mitigation plans.
- Identify key decisions requiring leadership attention, define available options and assess their respective advantages and disadvantages.
- Provide reports and recommendations to key stakeholders and leadership teams.
Business Planning Excellence
- Coordinate and continuously improve the annual business planning process across Animal Health UK & Ireland.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor the business planning calendar to ensure alignment with local and global systems and processes.
- Support the organisation and coordination of key planning meetings, milestones, and deliverables.
- Maintain and update process documentation, process maps, and meeting charters to support operational excellence and audit readiness.
- Communicate key business planning updates and milestones to the wider organisation.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Commercial Excellence, Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, Finance, IT, HR, Communications, and Global teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and project objectives.
- Coordinate and support project governance activities, ensuring stakeholders are informed of progress and key decisions.
- Design and deliver communication plans to increase awareness of Commercial Excellence initiatives and priorities.
- Develop and maintain digital communication platforms, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams sites.
- Ensure clear, timely, and effective communication across multiple channels and stakeholder groups.
Budget & Resource Coordination
- Support the management and monitoring of Commercial Excellence project budgets and cost centres.
- Track project-related expenditure and purchase order activities.
- Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and cost savings across Commercial Excellence activities.
- Support resource planning and investment decisions through accurate tracking and reporting.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain compliance with Competition Law, Data Protection, Commercial Compliance, and internal governance requirements.
- Support adherence to NOAH, APHA, and Boehringer Ingelheim standards and policies.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and promote best practices in project management and process excellence.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Professional project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile certifications) would be advantageous but are not essential.
Skills & Experience
- Experience coordinating or delivering projects within a commercial, operational, business support, project management, or related environment.
- Good understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities, stakeholders, and timelines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with a structured and methodical approach to managing projects and activities.
- Experience building effective working relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and influence outcomes through relationship building and collaboration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Experience preparing project documentation, monitoring milestones, and tracking progress against objectives.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented approach to identifying challenges, managing risks, and implementing effective solutions.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Experience supporting budget tracking, reporting, or resource planning activities would be beneficial.
- Experience within Commercial Excellence, Sales Operations, Business Operations, Animal Health, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, or another regulated industry would be a nice-to-have.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning, continuous improvement, and taking ownership of projects and initiatives.
