Commercial Executive Opportunity, Supporting the Commercial Success of Global Engineering Projects
This person can be based in our Bath on a hybrid working model.

About The Role
We are looking for a Commercial Executive to join our Commercial & Legal Team in Bath. This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and commercially minded professional to support a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple sectors and jurisdictions, helping project teams navigate contractual and commercial matters throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with the Commercial Manager and Global Director of Commercial, Legal and Digital Risks, you will play an important role in safeguarding commercial performance, supporting contractual compliance, and contributing to the successful delivery of complex projects around the world.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Commercial Executive, you'll provide day-to-day commercial and contractual support across a wide range of projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the administration and management of client contracts and appointments, ensuring documentation is accurately maintained and tracked.
- Assisting with the review of key project deliverables, payment applications, change requests and contractual correspondence.
- Supporting the management of subconsultant appointments, from contract setup through to project completion.
- Maintaining commercial trackers, monitoring contract status, project budgets, fee expenditure, scope changes and milestone billing.
- Assisting in the preparation of contractual notices, correspondence and change order documentation.
- Helping project teams understand contractual obligations, entitlements and commercial risks.
- Supporting the review and validation of payment applications and related contractual documentation.
- Assisting with project close-out activities and ensuring compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
- Attending project meetings and providing commercial support to project leaders and client-facing teams.
- Building positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and subconsultants.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of commercial processes, templates and best practices.

What We Are Looking For:
We're interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience in a commercial, legal, contract administration or paralegal role within engineering, construction, consultancy or professional services.
- An understanding of consultancy appointments and standard forms of contract such as ACE, NEC, or bespoke client agreements.
- Knowledge of commercial principles including payment mechanisms, scope management and change control.
- Excellent written communication skills, with experience drafting professional correspondence and contractual documentation.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- A collaborative and proactive approach to stakeholder management and relationship building.
- Analytical capability and confidence reviewing contractual documents and identifying potential risks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience of public sector frameworks, professional indemnity insurance requirements or building regulations compliance would be advantageous but is not essential.
