About The Event
Montgomery Group is looking for an enthusiastic Commercial Executive, Delegate Community to support the growth of two new summit and exhibition launches. You will help build two event communities from the ground up, connecting senior professionals with relevant content, networks and solution providers.
Reporting to the Events Director, the Commercial Executive will identify, engage and build relationships with senior decision-makers, building delegate communities that support the success of both events.
The role suits someone who enjoys speaking to people, building relationships and thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment. Success means meeting delegate targets while becoming a trusted member of the community, understanding customer needs and helping shape events that serve the industries they represent.
Position Overview & Key Responsibilities
Delegate Community Development
- Deliver delegate acquisition campaigns to meet attendance targets across both launch events.
- Build long-term relationships with senior decision-makers, buyers and industry professionals and year-round engagement.
- Grow a delegate database, identifying new organisations, contacts and opportunities for community growth.
- Qualify prospective delegates to ensure attendance from the most relevant senior decision-makers.
- Deliver a strong customer experience throughout the delegate journey, becoming a trusted point of contact for the community.
- Engage delegates throughout the year, to encourage repeat attendance and strengthening long-term engagement with the events.
Business Development & Market Engagement
- Manage your own delegate sales plan, identifying priority sectors, target organisations and key accounts and review activity to improve performance.
- Drive sales and telesales activity to identify, engage and qualify prospective delegates, using outbound conversations to build trusted relationships with senior buyers, understand market needs and grow a engaged delegate community.
- Achieve and exceed agreed KPIs through business development, telesales activity, relationship building and effective pipeline management.
- Generate new delegate opportunities through market research, prospecting and networking.
- Attend competitor, conference, networking and industry events to identify prospective delegates, strengthen market knowledge and generate new business opportunities.
- Build relationships with industry associations, partners, and influencers to strengthen community engagement and awareness.
- Identify emerging trends, customer challenges and market opportunities, to inform event strategy.

Commercial Collaboration
- Work with the exhibition and sponsorship sales team to identify and attract high-value buyers who add value for exhibitors.
- Work with the Marketing Manager on delegate acquisition campaigns, sharing customer insight and market intelligence to improve campaign performance.
- Work with the content team to understand conference programmes and communicate their value to prospective delegates.
- Support event team in delivering events through collaborative planning and communication.
CRM & Performance
- Maintain accurate CRM records, ensuring customer interactions, delegate information and activity are captured.
- Manage your own sales pipeline, ensuring consistent activity, accurate forecasts and follow-up with prospective delegates.
- Monitor performance against agreed KPIs, reviewing activity and adapting your approach to maximise results.
- Use AI-powered tools to improve productivity, customer engagement and commercial performance.
Market Immersion
- Understand the industries your events serve through networking events, exhibitions, customer meetings and industry conferences.
- Understand customer needs, buying behaviours and market trends.
- Act as an ambassador for Montgomery Group and the event brands, building credibility and relationships across the community.
- Travel within the UK and internationally, where required, to support the growth and success of both events.

Competencies
- Experience in sales, customer service, recruitment, hospitality, business development or another customer-facing commercial role is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confident engaging with senior decision-makers by telephone, online and face-to-face.
- Comfortable undertaking proactive sales and telesales activity, with the resilience and motivation to generate new opportunities through outbound prospecting.
- Strong relationship-building, networking, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to plan, prioritise and manage your own workload.
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve and exceed targets and KPIs.
- Experience with CRM systems, or willingness to learn new technologies.
- Willingness to use AI-powered tools to improve productivity and customer engagement.
- High attention to detail and strong administrative skills

The central London, dog-friendly offices are in a Georgian townhouse close to Oxford Street & Marylebone High Street with private access to Manchester Square Gardens. A minimum of 4 days in the office, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Some flexibility will be required to meet business needs.
