To support the continued growth of the firm, we are looking for an experienced accounting professional to join our Commercial Finance function as Commercial Finance Accountant (CFA), supporting our Real Estate Group.

As a CFA, you will work closely with senior leadership, providing strategic commercial financial management and influencing major decisions to drive performance and achieve ambitious objectives. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders and make a tangible difference to the organisation's growth and direction.

This is a high-impact role where you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future financial success of key priorities across Addleshaw Goddard.

The Group Finance function supports and drives the financial success of Addleshaw Goddard. We strive to deliver a first-class service to our stakeholders and to be a great team to work with and be part of.

The Group Finance team comprises business professionals across a range of disciplines, including Financial Control, Tax, Procurement, Business Partnering, Financial Planning & Analysis, Credit Control, Accounts Payable, Legal Billing, and Legal Cashiering.

  • Act as a strategic finance business partner, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and providing insight to improve financial performance.
  • Lead financial analysis and reporting, reviewing monthly performance, monitoring key KPIs, and identifying opportunities for profit and efficiency improvements.
  • Drive working capital performance and promote best practice across billing, time recording, WIP, debt management, and operational processes.
  • Manage and deliver key finance projects, including profitability reviews, pricing and tendering support, process improvements, and systems implementation.
  • Support business planning and forecasting through financial modelling, analysis, and a clear understanding of commercial drivers.
  • Enable effective decision-making by developing action plans, supporting business cases, advising on pricing and profitability, and contributing to recruitment, promotion, and succession planning.

Who We're Looking For

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have been a finance business partner within a commercial environment. Experience within a professional services environment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Be a qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent).
  • Demonstrate confidence in analysing, interpreting, and presenting financial information to a range of stakeholders.
  • Possess strong commercial acumen, credibility, and the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
  • Be able to work effectively, build relationships, and influence within a complex and dynamic matrix organisation structure.
  • Communicate clearly and persuasively, with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, and the ability to produce insightful financial and commercial commentary.
  • Adopt a service-focused approach, with a proven track record of effective stakeholder management.
