About us

You've probably heard of Autotrader, but do you know what we're all about?

We're the most trusted, most visited automotive marketplace in the UK. A heritage brand and a tech innovator. We bring together vehicle buyers and sellers to give them real choices. Cars may be what we're best known for but we’re also the place for pretty much everything else on wheels, from e-bikes to caravans.

In the automotive world, change is a constant, that’s why we take our job of untangling the complex car-buying journey very seriously.

At our core, we’re all about people. We go our own way while embracing diversity and celebrating our differences. We dedicate ourselves to the idea that we work better together.

Autotrader is a beautiful, surprising and vibrant place to work. We might not be for everyone, but we could be perfect for you.

About the job

As Commercial Finance Analyst, you will provide commercial finance support to a number of Directors across Autotrader. You will work closely with our partnerships and product teams, influencing and driving them to execute their full-year financial plan, while taking full responsibility for the budgeting and analysis of key revenue streams. Within this, you will be responsible for leading the annual forecasting process for the teams you support, providing monthly and weekly insight into performance.

This role offers complete autonomy, giving you the space to own your remit and truly drive performance discussions. A key highlight of the role includes leading monthly meetings where you will present directly to members of the Autotrader Leadership Team (ALT), including the CEO and CFO. To succeed, you will proactively gain an understanding of new products and develop key KPIs. Monthly reviews and analysis of revenue and key metrics will be required, working with the Business Insight and Reporting teams to ensure information supports strategic decisions. Ad-hoc analysis will be provided as necessary.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The role requires strong commercial awareness, a proactive approach, and problem-solving skills to deliver value to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. You will analyse large datasets to provide insights, identify risks and opportunities, and influence stakeholders to drive commercially sound decisions.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects in a collaborative environment where you will interact with teams across Autotrader. You will be supported by the wider Finance team, empowered to make positive change, and encouraged to join us on a journey of continuous improvement.

You might think you have to be a car enthusiast to work here but you don't. We’re looking for people who care about their craft and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.

What we're looking for

  • Part qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Experience working in a similar commercially focussed Analyst role
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and influence stakeholders across financial and non-financial backgrounds
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience modelling data
  • Curious individual with strong commercial awareness
  • Proactive approach and a problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • We are a business that embraces change, so you need to be able to adapt quickly whilst being able to meet deadlines and deliver ongoing projects

During our application process, you will be asked two questions to help us learn more about you and how you align with our values. These will be used as part of our selection criteria, to determine if we progress your application further.

Additionally, we have our remote-first periods at set times during summer and winter. During these periods, you can work remotely anywhere in the UK and from certain locations abroad.
