About The Role

At AO Recycling, we're giving electricals a second life. As part of the AO family, we operate one of the UK's largest and most advanced WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling facilities, helping reduce waste and create a more sustainable future.

We're looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst who's ready to take the next step in their career in a fast-paced business. You'll help us better understand performance, identify opportunities, and make informed business decisions through analysis and reporting. We're looking for someone who's naturally curious and loves solving problems with data.

For the right person, we'll also provide support towards completing your CIMA qualification, helping you continue your professional development while building your career with AO. This is an office-based role working 5 days per week in our Halesfield Telford office.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

In this exciting role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Turn data into insights, helping our commercial and operational teams understand performance and drive improvement across the business.
  • Deliver accurate reporting and analysis that supports decision-making; Create and develop KPI reporting.
  • Maintain and enhance consolidation templates used for AO Group Finance reporting; Support with month-end processes and performance reviews.
  • Work with our IT Projects team to help automate reporting, making information more accessible, accurate and timely.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify process improvements that drive both commercial and operational efficiencies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how AO Recycling operates, identifying key profit and cost drivers and making recommendations to improve performance.

A Few Things About You

Visa sponsorship is not available for this role; to be considered, you'll need to have an unrestricted and ongoing right to work in the UK, both now and in the future. We’re also looking for candidates with:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related subject (2:1 preferred) and a commitment to studying towards a CIMA qualification.
  • Experience working in a finance, commercial or analytical role would be helpful.
  • Advanced Excel skills and an interest in using AI to work smarter. We’re looking for a proactive, can-do attitude with the drive to learn and develop.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders across the business.
