Commercial Finance Analyst
Location: Theale, Berkshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite
Industry: Large Telecoms / Infrastructure
You must be eligible to work in the UK without the need for Sponsorship
About the Role
Telecoms Infrastructure company based in Theale is looking for an ambitious and analytically driven Commercial Finance Analyst to provide high-quality financial, commercial and operational insight to support business performance and decision-making.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will analyse financial performance, track results against budgets and forecasts, identify risks and opportunities, and provide clear, data-driven insight to business stakeholders.
You will also review processes and spend, identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost control, and work closely with Finance and Business teams to drive performance and deliver against targets.
This is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week onsite at the company's Theale office.
What Will You Do?
Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Deliver timely, insightful and action-oriented financial reporting to key stakeholders.
- Analyse monthly overheads performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
- Develop and enhance reporting, dashboards and KPIs to support business objectives.
- Improve the speed, accuracy and automation of reporting using tools such as Power BI.

Month-End Activities
- Support the month-end close process, including journals, prepayments, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Act as the primary Finance contact for external auditors in relation to overheads.
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls.
Commercial Insight & Analysis
- Analyse business processes and expenditure to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimisation.
- Provide high-quality financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Work closely with Finance and wider business stakeholders to develop a strong understanding of business performance.
- Translate financial and operational data into meaningful commercial insight.
Forecasting & Planning
- Support the annual budgeting process and in-year forecasting cycles.
- Develop and enhance forecasting and budget models.
- Ensure financial models and outputs are robust, accurate and clearly communicated.
- Challenge assumptions and provide data-driven insight to improve forecast accuracy and business performance.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You will be a highly analytical and commercially minded finance professional with strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in using financial data to drive business performance.

You will have strong financial modelling skills and the ability to analyse large datasets, identify trends and communicate meaningful insights to both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
- Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant – CIMA, ACCA
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Advanced Excel Skills.
- Good commercial acumen with a passion for value creation and cost optimisation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage, challenge and influence stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial information.
- Proactive, inquisitive and collaborative approach.
- Ability to work with large datasets and translate analysis into actionable business insight.
Desirable
- Experience within telecoms, infrastructure, construction or professional services.
- Experience working with financial systems and data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Exposure to wider digital finance solutions and reporting automation.
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision-making.
