Salary: A competitive salary from £33,520 – £50,280 depending on the experience you can bring

About the Role

As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting financial planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis across Aegon UK. Working within the Commercial Finance team, you'll provide meaningful insight into business performance, helping stakeholders understand financial results, identify risks and opportunities, and make informed commercial decisions.

Partnering with senior leaders and business teams, you'll contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, deliver accurate month-end reporting, and provide robust financial analysis that supports profitability and strategic objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to develop their commercial finance and business partnering experience within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting activities across the business.
  • Analyse financial performance, including variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Produce and deliver accurate month-end reporting, ensuring deadlines are met and outputs support effective decision-making.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and senior leaders to provide financial insight and challenge where required.
  • Support the annual planning process and ongoing forecasting cycle, helping to drive financial performance and profitability.
  • Complete key financial control activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and management reporting.

We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have

  • Experience working within a finance function, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Management accounting experience, including month-end activities, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
  • Good understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet reporting and finance ledgers.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) or equivalent relevant finance qualification is preferred though not essential.
