The Role

To support the delivery of accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting across core operational divisions, ensuring financial information is robust, well-controlled, and supports informed business decision-making.

This is a varied and commercially focused finance role that combines financial accounting, reporting, analysis, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in month-end activities, revenue accounting, forecasting support, and balance sheet management.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver accurate and timely month-end accounting activities across core operational and service business streams.
  • Prepare and post journals for accruals, prepayments, income, and expenditure, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Manage additional revenue calculations, invoicing activities, and customer billing queries.
  • Produce monthly financial reporting and performance analysis, including month-on-month and year-to-date commentary.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Partner with commercial finance heads to understand in-month activities, supporting accurate reporting and informed decision-making.
  • Support forecasting activities by providing financial insight, challenge, and analysis to help improve forecast accuracy.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities by analysing operational cost drivers and performance trends.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requirements, providing appropriate documentation and financial support where required.

Requirements

  • Professional qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CA).
  • Experience within a financial accounting or management accounting environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience producing financial reports, posting journals, and completing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex financial data.
