Commercial Finance Analyst - Denham
Analyse it. Partner it. Trust it with lives!
Take on a role where financial expertise meets global operational impact. As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will join a high-performing team delivering forward-looking, value-add analysis rather than transactional accounting. From initial bid pricing to final margin evaluation, your commercial acumen ensures our life-saving technology remains sustainable and successful.
Direct Impact, Global Scale. Life-Saving Mission.
At Martin-Baker, the work we do matters. We design, manufacture and support life-saving equipment used by aircrew around the world. Our products operate in demanding environments, where quality, reliability and attention to detail are critical.
We’re proud of our long history in aerospace and defence, also focused on the future. Joining Martin-Baker means becoming part of a business with a clear purpose, strong engineering capability and a long-term commitment to its people, products and customers.
Whether you work in engineering, operations, commercial, finance, supply chain or support functions, your contribution helps deliver equipment that protects lives. It is challenging work, but it is also meaningful, and with over 7,800 lives saved, it gives our people the opportunity to be part of something with real impact.
The Opportunity
As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will act as the financial heartbeat of our business partnering operations. Reporting directly to the Commercial Finance Controller, you will enter a high-visibility, relatively flat team structure focused on connecting finance with the wider business, including our engineering and commercial divisions.
This is an incredible opportunity to leave repetitive month-end journals behind. Instead, you will gain deep exposure to 3-statement modelling, process automation, and strategic commercial proposals. You will work closely with internal teams to turn operational data into actionable insight, with the potential for occasional international travel.
What You’ll Do
- Business Partnering: Work closely with Commercial, Engineering, and Sourcing teams to provide advanced financial data for enhanced decision-making.
- Bids & Proposals: Partner directly with the Commercial department on pricing, new business proposals, and potentially preparing critical bid packs.
- Value-Add Analysis: Leave transactional journal work behind; your focus will be on forward-looking performance, profitability analysis, and identifying business risks and opportunities.
- Process Improvement: Build, automate, and improve financial reporting models using Power Query to eliminate dependencies on concentrated institutional knowledge.
- Management Insight: Produce and present meaningful financial information to senior stakeholders, focusing on strategic insight rather than simply reporting historic results.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
