About the Role
We are looking for a newly qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) candidate that is looking to move to a more commercially focused role within a business. The candidate needs to be pro-active with a drive to develop and progress within the business. The role will support the Finance Director and will report directly to them. Candidates that are currently working towards their ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification will also be considered.
The role is mainly office based in Northampton with one day working from home. Candidates must be willing to travel to the office at least 4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Review weekly subcontractor payments against time sheets to ensure accuracy is maintained.
- Assist with production of management reports, including project finance packs.
- Analysis of financial data to identify trends and potential areas of overspend.
- Liaising with Commercial department to drive cash collection.
- Ensuring monthly processes are completed in a timely manner, including management accounts, VAT return and statement reconciliations.
- Review on-boarding of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
- Prepare information required for external audits and support the audit process.
- Provide ad hoc financial support for all business departments, this may include cost breakdowns, copies of invoices etc.
- Support the Accounts Payable department with invoice processing during busy periods or covering holidays.

Role Requirements
- Newly qualified Accountant or part-qualified – ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting or commercial finance role.
- Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary and Benefits
- Starting salary of £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
- Pension Scheme via Aegon.
- Holiday entitlement – 25 days plus birthday and bank holidays.
- Working hours – 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- Location – office based with option to work one day from home.
