Commercial Finance Analyst

Milton Keynes (Hybrid) | Up to £45,000 + Benefits

Every commercial decision has an impact, and this business wants an analyst who can bring the insight that makes those decisions sharper. We're recruiting on behalf of a well-known, fast-paced consumer brand with a huge digital footprint, looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join their team. This is a role for someone commercially curious who wants to go beyond traditional finance reporting and get stuck into the "why" behind the numbers, working closely with Marketing and other key stakeholders to shape smarter, evidence-led decisions. If you love asking questions, enjoy translating data into a story, and want a role where your analysis genuinely influences how the business grows, this could be a great next step.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partnering with the Marketing team and other stakeholders to provide financial insight and support commercial decision-making
  • Supporting the development of financial models through assumptions, analysis and scenario-based inputs
  • Helping evaluate commercial initiatives, campaigns and trials through robust performance analysis
  • Comparing forecast to actual results, identifying drivers of variance and areas for improvement
  • Supporting business cases, investment proposals and commercial recommendations
  • Delivering post-campaign and post-activity reviews, turning data into clear commercial insight
  • Understanding the wider impact of commercial activity to inform future recommendations
  • Responding to ad hoc business requests with timely, accurate analysis
  • Challenging assumptions and validating data to ensure recommendations are robust
  • Spotting opportunities to improve reporting, modelling and analytical processes

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Good understanding of key financial drivers — sales, margin, profitability and ROI
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, comfortable working with large datasets and supporting financial modelling
  • Experience with commercial performance reviews, variance analysis and post-activity evaluation
  • The ability to compare forecast against actual, identify key drivers and turn findings into practical recommendations
  • Confident communication skills — able to explain financial information clearly to finance and non-finance audiences alike
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and ad hoc requests
  • A proactive, inquisitive mindset with real interest in how commercial decisions play out across the business
