Commercial Finance Analyst
Join us as a Commercial Finance Analyst, supporting our Retail teams. You'll be the go-to person for turning numbers into insights, helping us understand what's really driving sales, margin and stock performance. From forecasting and analysing commercial activity to partnering with Commercial, Marketing and Finance teams, you'll play a key role in helping the business make smarter decisions and drive performance.
Please note, this is a hybrid role with 2 days per week in our Wakefield office.
What You’ll Do
- Use sales, margin and stock data to uncover insights, explain performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and trading plans, helping to challenge assumptions and drive more accurate decision-making.
- Work closely with Commercial, Marketing and Finance teams to provide analysis to support key business decisions, trials and initiatives.
- Take ownership of reporting tools and dashboards, ensuring data is accurate, reliable and actionable.
- Continuously look for ways to improve processes and make reporting more efficient.

What You’ll Bring

- Qualified, Part-qualified or qualified by relevant experience, with a strong grounding in Commercial Finance.
- Relevant experience gained in commercial finance, industry, assurance or advisory.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills, with the ability to produce accurate and robust financial analysis.
- Understanding of key retail performance measures, including sales, margin, price, volume, mix and stock.
- Commercial curiosity, with the confidence to investigate unexpected results and challenge assumptions constructively.
- Ability to translate data into clear conclusions, commercial implications and recommended actions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across finance and non-finance teams.
- Experience of Power BI or Anaplan would be an advantage.
