Role: Commercial Finance Business Partner
Reports to: Commercial Finance Director
Location: Lancashire (hybrid 3/2)
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + car allowance
Benefits: Bonus, Private Medical, comprehensive benefits including enhanced pension
Medlock Partners are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a fantastic global FMCG business to recruit a Commercial Finance Business Partner into their finance team.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Finance Director, you’ll work closely with Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management, providing the financial insight and commercial challenge needed to drive profitable growth across key customer channels, including discount, convenience and multi-channel.
This is a highly commercial, business-facing finance position where you’ll have real influence over customer profitability, investment decisions and strategic planning. You’ll take ownership of customer P&Ls, challenge performance and partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities, manage risk and maximise returns.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the lead finance partner for key UK customer channels, driving revenue, margin and profit performance.
- Leading customer P&L analysis, month-end reporting and financial performance reviews, providing actionable insight to senior leadership.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting, challenging assumptions and ensuring robust financial plans.
- Owning customer investment modelling and governance across Joint Business Plans (JBPs), promotional activity and commercial proposals.
- Partnering with Revenue Management on CPI strategy, customer impact assessments and post-implementation benefits tracking.
- Managing marketing accruals, balance sheet reviews and financial controls.
- Identifying risks and opportunities, developing action plans and proactively driving performance against targets.
- Driving continuous improvement through enhanced reporting, Power BI dashboards and more efficient commercial finance processes.

Requirements:
- A recognised finance qualification (CIMA, ACA or ACCA).
- At least two years’ post-qualified experience, ideally within FMCG or a consumer-facing environment (ideally own label experience).
- Commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working at pace, building relationships and influencing decisions beyond the numbers.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and experience working with customer profitability, forecasting and investment decisions.
- The confidence to challenge constructively, influence stakeholders and translate financial data into meaningful business recommendations.
- A proactive, organised and collaborative approach, with the drive to take ownership and deliver results.
- Experience of using "Power BI" beneficial
