Commercial Finance Business Partner
I'm working with a growing business looking for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join their team and work closely with key stakeholders to drive performance and support business decisions.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys looking beyond the numbers, getting involved in the commercial side of the business and having a real influence on how decisions are made.
What you'll be doing:
- Analysing financial performance across revenue, margins and profitability, identifying key trends, risks and opportunities against budget and previous year.
- Working closely with commercial and operational teams to understand performance drivers and provide financial insight to support decision-making.
- Supporting pricing strategies, promotional activity and investment proposals, challenging assumptions and assessing their impact on profitability.
- Taking ownership of budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning, helping the business stay on track against its targets.
- Partnering with stakeholders on product range planning, ensuring financial assumptions are robust and commercially viable.
- Preparing management reports, financial commentary and performance packs, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Identifying opportunities to improve margins, manage costs and drive overall business performance.
- Supporting financial planning and ad-hoc commercial projects as the business continues to develop.
- Taking ownership of Power BI reporting, ensuring stakeholders have access to accurate, meaningful data to support decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
