Commercial Finance Business Partner
The opportunity
Our client is a global food producer with UK sales of c.£350m, forecast to reach £500m in the medium term. With significant investment planned and an international footprint, this is a business entering a genuinely exciting phase of growth.
The Commercial Finance Business Partner will provide the financial insight, costing expertise and commercial challenge behind customer profitability, pricing and contract decisions. Acting as the link between Finance, Sales, NPD and Operations, you will make sure the business grows profitably and that commercial decisions are built on robust numbers.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role with real commercial influence. It offers clear routes for career progression within an international group, together with an attractive salary and benefits package.

What you'll be doing
- Analysing customer, product and category profitability to identify margin opportunities
- Building and owning costing models covering raw materials, labour, packaging and overheads
- Supporting pricing decisions, tenders and customer negotiations with financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Evaluating promotions and new business opportunities, highlighting the key risks and benefits
- Developing sales, margin and promotional forecasts and explaining variances to budget
- Producing commercial performance reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders
- Improving systems, data quality and reporting, and reducing reliance on manual spreadsheets
What we're looking for
- A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Commercial finance experience gained in FMCG, ideally food, or a manufacturing environment
- Strong product costing and margin analysis skills, with a clear understanding of manufacturing cost drivers
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills (Power BI desirable)
- The confidence to translate numbers into clear recommendations and to challenge constructively
- An inquisitive, improvement-minded approach and comfort working where systems and processes are evolving
