Commercial Finance Director

Renumeration: £180,000 + bonus/exit bonus

Location: Multi-location – NW London & Midlands (3 days per week in office)

Finatal have partnered with a PE-backed multi-site business that is looking for a Commercial Finance Director to come on board and help with the sale of the business. This person will need to have had exposure to an exit and will have the right commercial acumen to act as the trusted advisor to the CFO.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for another exit on their cv and likes communication business performance to stakeholders.

Financial Modelling & Value Framework

  • Build, maintain and own an integrated organisation-wide financial model.
  • Develop driver-based forecasting linked to operational performance metrics.
  • Identify and quantify the principal drivers of growth, profitability and cash generation.
  • Ensure the model is robust, flexible and embedded as a core decision-support tool.

Value Creation & Performance Insight

  • Translate financial and operational performance into clear, actionable insights.
  • Develop a consistent narrative around growth, profitability and cash generation.
  • Ensure alignment between strategy, forecasts and reported performance.
  • Support the preparation of high-quality materials for executive leadership, boards and other stakeholders.
  • Develop a compelling financial value narrative, supported by clear analysis and presentation materials.

Commercial Finance & Business Partnering

  • Partner with senior operational leaders to improve commercial performance, pricing, profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Support major commercial decisions, investment appraisals and strategic trade-offs.
  • Provide robust, data-driven challenge and financial insight.
  • Improve financial understanding across non-finance stakeholders.

KPI Framework & Performance Management

  • Define and embed a suite of KPIs aligned to strategic value drivers.
  • Connect operational performance with financial outcomes.
  • Ensure KPIs drive accountability, decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Develop clear and effective performance dashboards.

Statutory & Management Reporting Alignment

  • Work closely with the financial reporting function during changes to statutory reporting frameworks.
  • Translate statutory financial information into meaningful management insight.
  • Define and maintain appropriate adjusted performance measures.
  • Ensure a clear and consistent bridge between statutory reporting and management reporting.

Strategic Finance & Corporate Support

  • Support scenario planning, business valuation and strategic analysis.
  • Provide financial input into capital allocation and investment prioritisation.
  • Contribute to the assessment of strategic opportunities, risks and long-term value creation.
