Eton Bridge Partners have been retained on a confidential search to appoint a Director of Commercial Finance for a well-established, internationally recognised retail business with an ambitious growth agenda spanning both physical and digital channels.
Reporting to the CFO, this is a senior commercial finance leadership role at the heart of the business's growth strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to shape pricing, trading and investment decisions, and will be central to building out a forward-looking finance function as the business scales internationally.
The Role
- Acting as a trusted commercial advisor to senior leadership, bringing financial rigour to pricing, trading and investment decisions.
- Owning profitability analysis across channels and markets, with a particular focus on customer acquisition economics and lifetime value.
- Leading the commercial planning cycle, including budgeting and longer-term financial modelling to support strategic growth.
- Building strong working relationships across Buying, Merchandising, Marketing and Operations to keep financial and trading priorities aligned.
- Leading and developing a finance team, raising the standard of analysis and reporting across the function.

The Ideal Candidate
- Senior commercial finance or business partnering experience within an international, multi-channel retail business.
- A genuine ability to influence senior, non-financial stakeholders through clear, well-evidenced analysis.
- Strong grounding in customer economics and profitability drivers, including direct marketing and lifetime value metrics.
- A track record of building and developing high-performing finance teams.
- A low-ego, collaborative style: someone willing to challenge existing ways of working without needing to dominate the room.
