Senior Commercial Finance Manager
Location: Hybrid (Bedfordshire)
Salary: Up to £75k + excellent benefits and bonus
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Commercial Finance Manager to join a large, multi-site consumer-facing business. This is a highly visible role that combines commercial finance business partnering, financial leadership, and strategic insight to support operational and financial performance across a growing catering division.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making through robust financial analysis, commercial challenge, and actionable recommendations. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact on business performance while leading and developing a finance professional within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior commercial and operational leaders to drive profitable growth and business performance.
- Provide commercial insight, challenge, and financial support to influence key strategic decisions.
- Deliver weekly and monthly performance reporting, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Analyse key drivers including sales, margin, volume, product mix, and promotional activity.
- Own period-end reporting, variance analysis, and gross margin performance reviews.
- Ensure strong financial controls, governance, and compliance processes are maintained.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities.
- Develop financial models to support investment decisions, commercial negotiations, and strategic initiatives.
- Own and review capital investment appraisals, ensuring robust commercial assumptions and transparent reporting.
- Lead performance reviews, tracking initiatives, and evaluating return on investment.
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting, processes, controls, and data quality.
- Support business projects, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop a Finance Analyst while contributing to the wider finance team culture.

Candidate Profile

- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
- Significant experience within a commercial finance or finance business partnering role.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience managing large datasets.
- Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business recommendations.
- Experience within a multi-site, retail, hospitality, leisure, or consumer-facing environment is advantageous.
- Proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced business.
