We're on a mission to protect society from fraud and money laundering.
We've already protected over 3 million people through life's big transactions.
Fraud and regulation are rising, costing the UK economy over £100bn every year; this makes it more difficult for businesses to protect themselves and their clients - individuals like you and me - from fraud and money laundering.
Our co-founders Olly and Jack were led to this area when a friend was defrauded of £25K when buying their first property. At the time, anti-fraud technology didn't exist, which meant that completing the anti-fraud checks required in these processes was largely manual. These big life moments should be exciting, but instead are often confusing and scary due to the painful process of completing these paper-based checks and the risk of fraud.
Thirdfort helps businesses to facilitate these anti-fraud checks so that individuals know they can transact safely and seamlessly with professionals during these big transactions. Our anti-fraud platform provides a secure way for professionals in regulated sectors like Lawyers, Estate Agents and Accountants to transfer funds and verify sensitive information through app-based document checks, facial recognition and open banking.
Over 1,500 businesses now trust Thirdfort to verify their clients. We are FCA regulated and have raised over $33m in capital from leading Fintech investors Breega and Element Ventures, as well as the founders of Zoopla, Funding Circle, Comply Advantage, Tessian, Fenergo and Fidel.
We’re growing fast and doing it sustainably: revenue grew ~25% last financial year, backed by profitable months. Our top-performing business line is up 55% YoY and now accounts for over 10% of revenue.
The mission of the role:
As Commercial Finance Manager at Thirdfort, your mission is to deliver a robust financial plan and drive performance against it across the business.
You’re stepping into a high-functioning environment with a dependable model, an established budgeting process, and a team trusted across the company. Your focus is driving our next phase of maturity: enhancing forecasting accuracy, upgrading board-level insights, deepening our grasp of unit economics, and building out reporting for our acquired business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance as our sole dedicated commercial finance role, you'll have real autonomy and a visible impact on decisions. We're looking for someone who pairs strong modelling with genuine curiosity - as comfortable in a 3-statement model as they are sitting with team leads to unpick an operational variance.
For this role, we would love this person to be able to join us in our offices a couple of times a week as being together as a team is valuable for us but ultimately, we trust our team to decide what works best for them.
You will achieve your mission as our Commercial Finance Manager by:
- Financial Model Ownership: Own and scale our core financial model, refreshing forecasts and scenario planning monthly so the business always has a clear, current view of where it's heading.
- End-to-End Budgeting: Drive the annual budget process, partnering with stakeholders across the business.
- Lead Partnering: Partner with department leads through a monthly business review cadence, providing spend visibility and actionable guidance to keep the business on target.
- Reporting: Own our monthly board reporting pack, building out clean, scalable reporting frameworks as the business evolves.
- Analytical Partner to the Business: Act as a trusted analytical partner, surfacing the critical numbers that shape company strategy while digging into unit economics, customer trends and KPIs to uncover growth opportunities.
- Commission Strategy: Partner with commercial teams helping to build and roll out commission plans that drive performance and strategic alignment.
- AI & Automation: Use AI tools and modern technology to automate workflows, improve forecast accuracy, and help the function scale efficiently.
You may be right for this role if you:
- Bring 3+ years' post-qualified experience (PQE) in FP&A or commercial finance
- Have true modelling ownership, with hands-on experience building and flexing driver-based 3-statement models, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
- Look beyond the numbers to uncover the underlying business drivers, commercial risks, and growth opportunities.
- Translate complexity into simplicity, delivering clear, simple, and decision-ready guidance to non-finance leads.
- Thrive with end-to-end ownership in a fast-moving environment - equally comfortable diving into the granular detail as you are stepping back to help leaders with decision-making.
