Commercial Finance Manager (Franchise Finance Manager)

Salary: £70,000-£80,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + Bonus
Location: London (Borough) | Hybrid Working (2-3 days per week)

Stanton House is partnering with a globally recognised consumer and franchise-led Retail business to appoint a Commercial Finance Manager into its International Finance team.

Operating across multiple international markets, the business is entering a significant period of transformation as it evolves its finance and commercial operating model. This role has been created to support franchise operations across key European markets and will play an important part in driving franchisee performance, profitability and sustainable growth.

The finance team is highly visible within the organisation, with strong exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence strategic and commercial decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-known brand at a pivotal stage in its evolution.

Role

This is a highly commercial finance business partnering role sitting at the intersection of Commercial Finance, Franchise Finance and FP&A.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, franchisees and cross-functional teams, you'll act as a key advisor to the business, providing insight and challenge to improve financial and operational performance across the franchise network.

The successful candidate will help support franchisee profitability, assess commercial opportunities, identify risks, manage debt exposure and provide decision support to stakeholders across multiple markets.

The role would suit an individual who enjoys operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment and wants broader exposure than a traditional Commercial Finance position can typically offer.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with franchisees and internal stakeholders to improve commercial performance and profitability.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support commercial and strategic decision-making.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting and business planning processes across multiple markets.
  • Analyse franchisee performance, identifying risks, trends and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor franchise health, profitability and operational performance.
  • Support debt management, cash collection initiatives and risk mitigation activities.
  • Work closely with FP&A, Commercial, Strategy and Development teams on business initiatives.
  • Support growth opportunities, network development and commercial projects.
  • Deliver meaningful reporting and performance insights to senior leadership.
  • Challenge and influence stakeholders to drive improved financial outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with franchisees and operational teams across the business.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the international finance function as the organisation evolves.

Requirements

Essential

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience within Commercial Finance, Finance Business Partnering or FP&A.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience supporting operational and commercial decision-making.
  • Strong forecasting, planning and financial analysis capability.
  • Ability to translate financial information into actionable business insight.
  • Experience working within a multi-site, consumer-facing or operationally complex environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a changing and evolving business environment.

Desired

  • Experience within franchise-led businesses.
  • Exposure to Quick Service Restaurant (QSR), retail, hospitality or consumer sectors.
  • Experience partnering with operational stakeholders across multiple locations or regions.
  • Knowledge of franchise economics, franchisee profitability and performance metrics.
  • Exposure to debt management, credit risk or franchise support activities.
  • Experience working within an international or multi-market environment.
  • Additional European language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
