About the Company
Our client is a well-established manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, operational excellence, and customer service. As the company continues to develop its commercial and operational capabilities, they are looking to appoint a Commercial Finance Manager to provide clear financial insight, support strategic decision-making, and help drive profitable growth across the business.
Role Overview
The Commercial Finance Manager will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, improving financial performance, and providing clear commercial insight across the business. Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, this role will translate financial data into meaningful analysis, challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and support profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a finance business partner to senior stakeholders, providing commercial insight, challenge, and support to drive business performance.
- Prepare, analyse, and present financial reports, including management information, margin analysis, budgets, forecasts, and performance dashboards.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes, ensuring assumptions are robust and aligned to business strategy.
- Analyse sales, revenue, pricing, profitability, and cost performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support commercial decision-making through financial modelling, scenario analysis, investment appraisal, and business case preparation.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and cash generation.
- Work closely with operational, sales, and senior management teams to improve financial awareness and accountability.
- Challenge financial and operational performance, providing clear commentary and actionable recommendations.
- Support month-end reporting, variance analysis, and board-level reporting where required.
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting, systems, processes, and financial controls.

Key Skills and Experience
- Qualified accountant, ideally CIMA, ACCA, or ACA, with strong post-qualification experience in a commercial finance or finance business partnering role.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate it clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial modelling.
- Excellent commercial awareness, with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
- Strong Excel and systems skills, with experience using ERP, reporting, or business intelligence tools desirable.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
- Experience in a growth, multi-site, manufacturing, retail, services, or operationally led environment would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working close to the business and influencing performance. They will combine strong technical finance skills with curiosity, confidence, and the ability to build trusted relationships across finance and non-finance teams. This role would suit someone who can move comfortably between detailed financial analysis and senior-level commercial discussion.
