Commercial Finance Manager – Operations/ Manufacturing

Our client is a fast-growing, high-quality consumer brand with an ambitious mission and a strong focus on product, customer experience, and innovation.

The business is entering an exciting phase of growth and is looking for a commercially minded finance professional to help drive profitable scale.

The Role Reporting to the CFO, the Commercial Finance Manager will be a key finance partner to the Operations Director, working closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Retail.

This is a highly visible role with significant ownership. You'll use financial and operational insight to improve margins, identify efficiencies, challenge assumptions, and support better commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to Operations, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing
  • Identify opportunities to improve margin, costs, waste, purchasing, and operational efficiency
  • Analyse profitability and ROI of new products, projects, and capital investment
  • Support Retail revenue and EBITDA growth
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across Operations, manufacturing, and Retail
  • Develop clear management reporting and financial insight for senior stakeholders
  • Work with Data and Technology teams to automate reporting and leverage AI
  • Support month-end, audit, and overall financial control, with ownership of gross margin and Retail P&L

About You

  • Qualified Accountant with strong in-house commercial finance experience
  • Experience in FMCG, Retail, Manufacturing, Operations, or Supply Chain would be advantageous
  • Experience in consumer businesses a MUST
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Commercially minded with the ability to translate data into clear recommendations
  • Confident business partner who can challenge and influence senior stakeholders
  • Hands-on, pragmatic, and solutions-focused
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • High ownership mindset with the ambition to grow with the business

Package & Location

  • £75,000–£95,000 depending on experience

Hybrid working:

  • 2 days manufacturing site - Near to Cambridge
  • 1 day London office
  • 2 days home
