Rainford Berry is recruiting a Qualified accomplished Commercial Finance Manager for a substantial, privately owned group operating across contracting, manufacturing, logistics and warehousing. This is a high-profile opportunity to strengthen the connection between finance and operations, improve the quality of management information and provide senior leaders with clear, forward-looking commercial insight.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead commercial finance activity across several operational workstreams. You will get behind the numbers, bring together data from multiple systems and business units, and turn it into accurate, practical information that supports decisions and improves performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a commercial finance team covering contracting and CVR, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics.
- Own the weekly and monthly reporting cycle, including senior-management dashboards, commentary and actionable insight.
- Improve stock, inventory and working-capital reporting, including usage forecasts, ageing, risk and cash implications.
- Develop reporting on manufacturing output, cost, labour, stock and margin drivers.
- Create practical transport, fleet-utilisation and warehousing performance measures.
- Support and challenge project and CVR reporting, improving the quality and timeliness of information used by operational teams.
- Build trusted reporting from multiple data sources, using Power BI and sensible automation to reduce manual reporting.
- Partner closely with operational leaders, translating financial information into clear commercial actions.

About You
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Strong commercial finance or business-partnering experience in an operationally complex organisation.
- Demonstrable inventory, stock and working-capital experience.
- Experience of contracting or project environments and CVR-style reporting, or closely related experience.
- Exposure to manufacturing, logistics or warehousing, with a sound understanding of operational cost and performance drivers.
- Hands-on Power BI capability and strong Excel skills.
- Experience combining information from several systems into accurate, meaningful dashboards or management-information packs.
- A commercially curious, practical and inquisitive approach, with the confidence to challenge constructively.
- The ability to move comfortably between detailed analysis and concise communication with senior stakeholders.

Desirable Experience
- ERP implementation, MRP/ERP integration or major systems-change experience.
- Reporting automation and data-quality improvement.
- Hands-on exposure to fleet economics, transport KPIs, warehouse productivity or global sourcing.
- Experience working across several group companies or business units with shared systems, transactions and overheads.
Location and Package
Location: London offices 4 days a week & remote 1 day a week
Salary: Circa £90,000 basic, with flexibility up to circa £100,000 for an exceptional candidate, plus car allowance and additional benefits
