Role: Commercial Finance Manager

Location: Horwich, BL6 6JW

Contract: Full-Time Hours / Permanent

Salary: Up to £52,000

About the Role

Cumberland Farms is looking for a Commercial Finance Manager – Planning to support the Head of Commercial Finance in delivering key reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, using financial analysis and commercial insight to support decision-making and drive business performance.

This role will focus on identifying opportunities to improve profitability through sales growth, margin improvement and cost reduction. You’ll also play an important part in improving reporting processes, using data to identify trends and providing actionable insights to support senior management.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver weekly and monthly commercial reports and dashboards to monitor business performance.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting activities, including quarterly forecasting requirements.
  • Analyse commercial performance and key performance indicators to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Act as a key contact for commercial reporting and analysis, providing insight to support business decisions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand performance, challenge results and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify gaps in existing processes and work cross-functionally to implement improvements.
  • Present financial analysis and commercial insights to senior stakeholders to support effective decision-making.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and other activities that support the wider commercial finance function.

What we’re looking for

  • CIMA or ACCA qualified, or a finalist working towards qualification.
  • Experience in commercial finance, financial planning and analysis, budgeting or forecasting.
  • Experience producing and analysing financial reports, dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in reporting and accounting systems, with the ability to use system data to develop meaningful reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Confident communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial information to senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to business partnering, building relationships and supporting commercial decision-making.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
