Commercial Finance Lead – Ecommerce – South London – Hybrid (4 days in office) – £80,000
A rapidly growing, high-end consumer retail brand with recent backing from new ownership is seeking a high-calibre Commercial Finance Lead to join their team in London. Reporting directly into the CFO, this role sits right at the intersection of finance, ecommerce, merchandising, and trading. You will play a pivotal role in driving cross-functional growth with a large focus on ecommerce, shaping international expansion, strengthening channel economics, and delivering sharp commercial decision support across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Business Partnering & Performance: Partner closely across ecommerce, digital marketing, retail, and operations teams to evaluate channel economics, analyse performance, and drive greater accountability around key commercial KPIs.
- Financial Modelling & Business Cases: Build robust financial models, scenario analyses, and sensitivity forecasts to support strategic initiatives including international market expansion, pricing and markdown strategies, store investments, and operational projects.
- Ecommerce & Channel Analytics: Conduct deep-dive analysis into digital trading metrics—including traffic, acquisition costs, lifetime value, conversion, and retention—to maximize return on marketing spend and improve overall profitability.
- FP&A & Strategic Planning Support: Support long-range planning, budgeting, and reforecasting processes alongside senior leadership, developing executive dashboard reporting packs and board materials that deliver actionable insight.
- Transformation & Continuous Improvement: Act as a connector across functions to streamline reporting, refine data quality, and build a highly scalable commercial finance capability as the company enters its next phase of global growth.

- Must have Ecommerce Sector Expertise: Proven experience in a fast-paced commercial finance or FP&A role within consumer goods, retail, ecommerce, or luxury sectors.
- Professional Accounting Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Strong Advisory or Big 4 Background: Ideally trained within a Big 4, transaction services, consulting, or top-tier commercial finance environment before moving into industry.
- Advanced Modelling Capability: Exceptional Excel skills with demonstrated experience building complex financial models and commercial business cases.
- Stakeholder Management & Growth Mindset: A proactive, commercially curious, and low-ego approach with the confidence to influence and constructively challenge cross-functional leadership teams.
