What will you be doing?
As a Commercial Financial Controller for British Engineering Services - Electrical Division, you will provide financial leadership and commercial insight across our Electrical Division, acting as a trusted business partner to senior operational leaders. You'll play a key role in driving profitability, cash generation and operational performance while supporting the continued growth of a successful, fast-moving business.
You will:
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, forecasts and financial reporting.
- Act as a trusted finance business partner to divisional leadership, supporting commercial decision making.
- Deliver insightful analysis to support revenue growth, pricing strategy, margin improvement and operational efficiency.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and regular divisional reforecasts.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and drive initiatives to improve working capital and cash generation.
- Develop and monitor key performance measures including WIP, utilisation and profitability.
- Lead, mentor and develop the management accounts team.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, controls and reporting.
- Support system improvements, automation initiatives and finance transformation projects.
- Act as a key finance contact for external audit activities

As part of our team, you will get:
- Salary of £70,000 - £75,000, depending on experience and qualification level

To join our team, you will need:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (essential).
- Experience in a Commercial Finance, Financial Controller or Finance Business Partner role.
- Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Previous experience managing and developing finance teams.
- Strong understanding of profitability, working capital, cash flow and WIP management.
- Excellent analytical, financial modelling and Excel skills.
- The ability to translate financial and operational data into clear commercial insight.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to work closely with senior leaders.
- A proactive approach with a passion for continuous improvement and driving change.
- Experience within an engineering, technical, professional services or project-based environment would be advantageous
