PE-Backed PR & Communications Business | London | £90,000–£110,000 + Bonus
We are partnering with a fast-growing, PE-backed Media business to recruit a Commercial Financial Controller.
This is a broad, commercially focused role, working closely with the senior leadership team and playing a key part in the continued growth and development of the UK business. A significant part of the role will involve business partnering with multiple P&L leaders, providing commercial insight, challenging performance and helping drive profitability across the organisation. Alongside this, you'll take ownership of key financial reporting processes, oversee legal and contractual matters from a commercial finance perspective, and manage a small finance team.
The business is entrepreneurial, fast-paced and ambitious. They're looking for someone who can combine strong financial fundamentals with the personality and commercial mindset to really get under the skin of the business.

The Role
- Acting as a key finance business partner to senior stakeholders and P&L leaders across the UK business.
- Providing commercial insight around revenue, margins, profitability and business performance.
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across multiple business units.
- Taking ownership of month-end reporting, management accounts and financial control.
- Managing and developing a small finance team.
- Overseeing commercial legal and contractual matters, working with external legal advisers where required.
- Supporting the CFO and senior leadership team with financial analysis and strategic decision-making.
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial performance, processes and reporting.
Requirements
You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong combination of financial control and commercial finance experience. Importantly, we're looking for someone who can demonstrate genuine finance business partnering ability. Someone who enjoys working with operational leaders, understands the commercial drivers of a business and can confidently challenge and influence senior stakeholders.

Experience within PR, communications, marketing, media, agency or professional services would be particularly relevant, although we would consider candidates from other fast-paced, commercially driven environments. Previous experience within a PE-backed business would be highly advantageous. You'll also need a solid grounding in month-end reporting and financial control, alongside experience managing or developing a finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the commercial side of finance but still wants ownership of the numbers.
