Purpose of Role
VINCI Facilities is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to provide technical authority and assurance for gas safety compliance across RAF Brize Norton. This is a key compliance-focused position responsible for ensuring that all gas infrastructure, systems and associated activities remain safe, compliant and fully aligned with statutory legislation, contractual requirements and internal governance procedures.
Job Description
As the appointed Commercial Gas Engineer, you will act as the subject matter expert for gas safety across the site. Working closely with operational teams, contractors and stakeholders, you will oversee the implementation and management of Gas Safety Management Plans, maintain compliance records and ensure all gas-related works are completed safely and in accordance with regulations.
This is a predominantly static role based at RAF Brize Norton, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Gas Compliance professional or a senior Commercial Gas Engineer looking to progress into a compliance and governance-based position.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Responsible Person for all gas compliance matters at RAF Brize Norton.
- Manage and maintain Gas Safety Management Plans.
- Ensure statutory and contractual compliance requirements are achieved and maintained.
- Maintain gas registers, records and compliance documentation.
- Review and monitor contractor competence and performance.
- Conduct compliance inspections and assurance activities.
- Investigate gas-related incidents and support corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance and advice to operational teams and stakeholders.
- Support audits and compliance reviews as required.
- Promote a positive safety culture across the estate.

Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Significant experience within the commercial gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of gas safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing gas compliance documentation and records.
- Experience reviewing contractor performance and competence.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Commercial Gas qualifications relevant to the role.
- Strong administrative and report-writing capability.
