Commercial Gas Engineer

Purpose of Role
VINCI Facilities is recruiting a Commercial Gas Engineer to lead gas compliance activities across a portfolio of Defence sites such as High Wycombe & Halton. The successful candidate will ensure that gas systems, procedures and safety governance arrangements remain fully compliant whilst supporting the safe delivery of maintenance and project activities across multiple locations.
Job Description
Working across the High Wycombe and Halton estates, the Commercial Gas Engineer will provide technical leadership and compliance assurance for all gas-related activities within the portfolio.
- Provide technical authority for gas compliance across multiple Defence sites.
- Implement and maintain Gas Safety Management Plans.
- Manage compliance records and statutory documentation.
- Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements and gas-related permits.
- Coordinate and monitor contractor activities.
- Undertake compliance inspections and audits.
- Support maintenance and project teams with specialist gas advice.
- Ensure remedial actions are completed within agreed timescales.
- Investigate incidents and identify improvement opportunities.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and operational teams.

Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Extensive commercial gas experience.
- Strong understanding of gas compliance and governance requirements.
- Experience working across multiple sites or contracts.
- Knowledge of Gas Safety Management Plans and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage contractors and supply chain partners.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Relevant Commercial Gas qualifications.
