About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Gas and Heating Engineer to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating systems across various commercial and residential properties.
This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, practical skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about plumbing, heating systems, and technical craftsmanship to develop their careers within a reputable organisation. Salary is dependent on experience.
Duties
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining heating systems in commercial properties, including schools, factories, industrial units.
- Conducting routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal system performance and safety.
- There will be an element of domestic work.
- Diagnosing faults accurately using specialised tools and mechanical knowledge.
- Providing excellent customer service and ensuring all work meets our high-quality standards.
- Diagnosing and resolving heating issues with efficiency and professionalism.
- Demonstrating pride in your work and maintaining the high standards our company is known for.
- Reading technical drawings and schematics to ensure precise installation and repair work.
- Maintaining detailed records of work completed and parts used for each project.
- Ensuring all work complies with current building regulations and safety standards.

Experience
- Proven experience as a Heating Engineer or in a similar role within the plumbing or HVAC industry. Minimum of 3 years in a commercial gas environment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heating systems, boilers, piping, and related equipment.
- Ability to perform basic maths calculations for measurements and system calculations accurately.
- Previous experience working on both residential and commercial heating systems is advantageous.
This role is ideal for motivated individuals with practical skills in mechanical trades who are committed to delivering high-quality service while adhering to safety standards.
Qualifications
- Plumbing: NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or higher
- Domestic Gas: CCN1/DCGS, CENWAT/DCENWAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1
- Commercial Gas: BMP1, CDGA1, CIGA1, COCN1, CORT1
Skills
- Desirable: Oil, Solid Fuel, Catering Tickets.
- Preferred: Experience with other fuels/ASHPs.
- Preferred: Experience of using smart phone/tablet-based scheduling systems (full training provided if required).
- Essential: Full Driving Licence.
- Essential: High levels of customer service, attention to detail, and pride in your work.
