About The Role

This permanent, full-time position suits a qualified Commercial Gas Engineer or Metering Engineer based in York, covering installations across Yorkshire, the North West and East Midlands. Working 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, with optional weekend work, the role involves completing industrial and commercial gas meter installations to relevant safety standards. Applicants need proven commercial gas experience, strong fault-finding ability and a full UK driving licence. Salary is competitive and negotiable based on experience, paid weekly. Benefits include 28 days' holiday, rising after three years, a company pension, and a provided van, fuel, PPE and specialist equipment. A standard gas fitting tool kit is required.

Salary

Competitive Salary, paid weekly, two weeks in arrears.

Hours of Work

  • 08:00hrs to 16:30hrs Monday to Friday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
  • Saturday & Sunday work available

Benefits

  • 28 days paid holiday per annum (includes 8 days statutory)
  • After 3 years with the company an additional 3 days holiday
  • Successful applicants will also be eligible to participate in the company pension scheme
  • Company van, fuel, PPE & any required specialist equipment will be provided

Applicants must provide their own standard gas fitting tool kit.

As part of this job type you will initially be required to complete;

  • Install, Remove and Exchange Gas meters from U6 to U160, Rotary and Turbine meters on all pressure Tiers
  • Complete site survey work (training provided)

You will need

  • CCN1, MET1, CMET1(CMET2)
  • Be presentable and have excellent customer service skills
  • Have effective communication skills
  • Minimum 1-year experience in the Gas Industry and work to a VERY high standard
  • Be a good timekeeper
  • Have good administration skills
  • Have a flexible approach to your working hours
  • A valid UK driving licence is also essential

Immediate start dates are available for the right applicant.
