Commercial Gas Engineer - Central Belt

Salary up to £48,000 DOE

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Commercial Gas Engineer to join a reputable FM provider. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repair work on commercial gas and heating systems across a range of customer sites.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on commercial gas and heating systems.
  • Install, service, repair and commission commercial boilers, burners and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently and safely.
  • Complete gas safety checks and ensure all work complies with current legislation and industry standards.
  • Carry out testing, commissioning and servicing of commercial heating systems.
  • Identify potential issues and recommend appropriate remedial works.
  • Complete job sheets, service reports and relevant documentation accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
  • Liaise professionally with customers, site managers and other contractors.
  • Work independently while also supporting colleagues and wider engineering teams.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and company vehicles are maintained and used appropriately.
  • Respond to emergency and reactive call-outs when required.
  • Represent the business professionally when working on customer sites.

Person Specification:

  • Commercial Gas qualifications and current competency.
  • Relevant commercial gas experience.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial heating and gas systems.
  • Experience with fault finding, servicing and repairs.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • COCN1 / CODNCO1 or equivalent commercial gas qualifications.
  • Experience working on commercial boilers, burners and plant rooms.
  • Experience with commercial heating controls and associated equipment.
  • Experience working within planned preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Electrical knowledge or relevant electrical qualifications - desirable
