Location: Nottingham, with some national travel
PTSG Ltd is a market leader in specialist services to the construction and FM sectors, delivering safety, compliance, and maintenance solutions nationwide.
We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to monitor Governance within PTSG Group. This will include providing hands-on contract review, dispute resolution and commercial capability support across the Group.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Head of Commercial Excellence by managing contract reviews, and in turn helping business units identify risk, strengthen controls and improve commercial performance.
This is a full time, permanent role, working 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and is based from our Nottingham office (NG17) on a hybrid basis. The role will also involve travel to other PTSG Group office locations.
What you will be doing:
- Review key terms - including payment, retention, liability, insurance, notices and delay - against the quotation to identify unpriced commitments.
- Record and escalate exceptions for documented decisions, maintaining an auditable review trail.
- Administer and monitor the Delegation of Authority and contract review process, recommending updates to the Head of Commercial Excellence
- Manage designated live disputes - including contra charges, final accounts and adjudication preparation and provide analysis and recommendations to the Head of Commercial Excellence and Group Legal.
- Prepare and negotiate commercial submissions, settlements and correspondence to achieve timely, evidence-based outcomes.
- Maintain a concise tracker of value, risk, status, ownership and next actions; report progress and convert lessons learned into controls, guidance and training.
- Support Head of Commercial Excellence in delivering a phased programme of targeted health checks, balanced against contract review and dispute priorities.
- Use health checks to identify control gaps, potential margin leakage and weaknesses in notices, variations and records, agreeing proportionate corrective actions with the relevant business unit.
- Monitor agreed actions and material risks, escalating significant or repeated non-compliance and reporting relevant trends across disputes, cash, variations and project performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
