Commercial Growth Executive

Northampton | Full Time | Office Based

About Oakway

Oakway delivers high-quality warehouse and industrial fit-out projects across the UK. We work with growing businesses to design and deliver complete turnkey solutions, from warehouse optimisation through to full commercial fit-outs.

As we continue to grow, we're investing in our commercial growth team to identify new opportunities, build long-term relationships and support our ambitious growth plans. This role is a key part of that strategy.

The Opportunity

This isn't a traditional sales role. You'll spend the majority of your time identifying opportunities before our competitors do, engaging with senior decision makers and building relationships that develop into significant commercial projects.

You'll help create opportunities that typically develop into projects valued between £200,000 and £5 million, making a genuine impact on the growth of both our clients and Oakway.

You'll work closely with our leadership, sales and marketing teams, using market intelligence, technology and proactive outreach to build a pipeline of high-quality opportunities.

Whilst the role is predominantly office-based, you'll also attend networking events, exhibitions and client meetings to strengthen relationships and expand your professional network.

What You'll Earn

  • Competitive basic salary
  • Uncapped performance bonus – your success directly influences what you earn
  • Additional performance incentives as the business grows
  • Clear progression into senior commercial and business development roles

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We're Looking For

This role suits someone who enjoys creating opportunities rather than waiting for them.

You'll probably recognise yourself in many of these:

  • Naturally proactive and self-motivated.
  • Commercially aware and curious.
  • Confident speaking with senior business leaders.
  • Resilient and comfortable working towards measurable targets.
  • Competitive in a healthy way and motivated by achievement.
  • Organised and disciplined in your approach.
  • Keen to learn and develop professionally.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of your performance.

Previous experience in business development or sales is helpful, but not essential. We're equally interested in people who demonstrate the right attitude, work ethic and potential.
