We are looking for an experienced commercial leader to take ownership of growth across a portfolio of strategically important high-risk and regulated markets.

This is a senior commercial role combining revenue ownership, business development, strategic client management, and close collaboration with Product.

You will be responsible for identifying where the strongest growth opportunities exist, developing the commercial strategy, and converting those opportunities into revenue across existing clients, new business, and strategic partnerships.

You will work closely with Product, Sales, and other teams to ensure market demand, client requirements, commercial opportunity, and risk appetite are aligned.

What you will own

Commercial & revenue

  • Revenue growth across a portfolio of high-risk and regulated markets
  • Growth through new business, upsell, and cross-sell
  • Commercial strategy, including target clients, markets, and opportunities
  • Pipeline development and conversion in partnership with Sales
  • Commercial input into pricing, deal structures, and profitability
  • Identification and development of new revenue opportunities

Client & partner relationships

  • Build and maintain senior relationships with key clients and strategic partners
  • Understand client needs and identify opportunities for account expansion
  • Lead complex commercial conversations and negotiations
  • Align client requirements with product capabilities and delivery
  • Manage senior-level commercial and service escalations
  • Develop partnerships that create new routes to market and revenue opportunities

Market strategy

  • Define and execute commercial strategies across high-risk and regulated markets
  • Identify opportunities across geographies, payment methods, and use cases
  • Understand how commercial opportunity, product capability, and risk appetite need to align
  • Monitor market developments, competitor activity, and pricing
  • Identify emerging opportunities and changing client needs
  • Build partnerships that support market expansion and sustainable growth

Product collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Managers to align commercial priorities with product strategy and roadmaps
  • Bring client and market insight into product discussions
  • Translate commercial opportunities into clear product requirements and priorities
  • Influence product decisions based on commercial impact, client demand, and scalability
  • Identify capabilities and integrations that can unlock new business, upsell, cross-sell, and partnership opportunities
  • Support the successful commercialisation and adoption of new capabilities

Go-to-market

  • Lead strategic client conversations, RFPs, and commercial negotiations
  • Support Sales teams with market expertise and deal strategy
  • Develop go-to-market approaches for new products and capabilities
  • Build strong commercial propositions for target markets
  • Enable internal teams to position solutions effectively
  • Support market entry and expansion opportunities

  • Significant senior commercial leadership experience within payments, fintech, acquiring, or high-risk industries
  • Strong understanding of high-risk and regulated merchant environments
  • Experience owning commercial strategy and revenue growth
  • Strong track record of winning new business and expanding existing client relationships
  • Good understanding of acquiring, payment methods, risk considerations, and commercial models
  • Experience working closely with Product teams to translate market demand into commercially successful solutions
  • Strong experience in complex enterprise negotiations, pricing, and partnerships
  • Experience operating across multiple international markets and regulatory environments
  • Strong commercial judgement and ability to balance opportunity, risk, and profitability
  • Comfortable working across Product, Sales, Risk, Operations, and other functions
  • Able to operate strategically while remaining close to clients and commercial execution
