About Renew
Renew is a nature data and intelligence company on a mission to drive large-scale nature recovery. We combine data, scientific expertise, and cutting-edge technology to create meaningful environmental impact.
We have already delivered early products to our customers and are now expanding our customer base and further enhancing our platform and product suite. Our ambition is to reverse the current trend of nature degradation in the most nature-impacting sectors by ensuring the full value of nature and natural capital is factored into decisions around restoration funding, operational practices, and supply chain management. We believe the sectors driving the greatest environmental impact are also where the commercial opportunity is greatest — proving that eco-conscious practice and bottom-line performance can reinforce, rather than compete with, each other.
About the role
This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity: Renew is still early-stage, which means you'll shape our commercial direction directly, move quickly, and build without layers of process getting in the way — not inherit a playbook, and not slot comfortably into an established machine. As Commercial Growth Lead, you will build and lead the engine that generates, qualifies, and cultivates demand across the top of our pipeline.
Renew has strong delivery capability and a growing pipeline of complex, high-value opportunities across our target sectors — and we are looking to accelerate growth through a dedicated function driving market presence, lead generation, qualification, and cultivation, alongside the partnerships that unlock our largest long-term opportunities.
Working in close partnership with the Commercial Director, you will take the lead on how Renew is positioned in the market, how we identify and engage the right prospects, and how we build the network and ecosystem of partnerships that will define our long-term commercial trajectory. You will carry the pipeline you create through qualification and, on faster-cycle opportunities, through to close.
The role demands someone who can operate fluently across demand generation, commercial instinct, and partnership development — hands-on, not just at a strategic level. Building on a wealth of opportunities, you will expand and systematise this critical commercial growth function.
Our strategic target sectors include consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, agriculture, forestry, utilities, real asset managers, and NBS developers, across the UK, Europe, and international markets. You will need to feel comfortable speaking competently across multiple sectors and building relationships with customers from various countries.
As our solutions and product offering evolve quickly, so do our commercial priorities. You will thrive in such a dynamic environment, fluidly contributing customer insights into our business development and solution development strategy, while confidently translating our rapidly developing features into a business value proposition for new customers.
What you'll own
- Lead generation & marketing: Build and run Renew's demand generation engine from the ground up — campaigns, content, inbound channels, and market presence. Shape how Renew is positioned and known across the nature and climate ecosystem.
- Targeting & prospecting: Define and continually sharpen our ideal customer profiles, lead account research and list-building, and design the outbound outreach that feeds the pipeline. Bring structure and rigour to how we identify and prioritise the right opportunities. Network actively and build awareness with potential target clients, and with other actors in our ecosystem, building credibility through your regular presence and familiarity with the space.
- Early-stage pipeline & qualification: Lead first-touch outreach and early qualification conversations, and build the long-term relationships that cultivate the pipeline through long sales cycles. Advance opportunities to an agreed qualification standard before handing them to the rest of the commercial team to take through to close.
- Direct business development: Carry a personal pipeline and bookings target for the smaller, faster-cycle opportunities you take end to end yourself — working with the Commercial Director on pricing and terms. This keeps the demand engine grounded in live buying conversations, not just theory.
- Partnerships & market development: Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic partnerships across the nature and climate ecosystem — technology providers, data partners, advisors, industry bodies, and channel relationships — working alongside the Commercial Director, who leads on commercial terms.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme

StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
How the role works with the team
Your primary focus and accountability as the Commercial Growth Lead will sit alongside other team members to form an effective overall commercial development function.
- Client Solutions Lead: Leads solution definition and scoping, proposals and bids, the commercial interface for live delivery, and renewals. Takes on opportunities once the Commercial Director has accepted them against the qualification criteria.
- Commercial Director: Holds pricing, commercial terms, negotiation and close on enterprise opportunities, commercial operations including CRM, forecasting and reporting, and personally accepts qualified opportunities against the agreed criteria before they transfer to the Client Solutions Lead.
- Science & delivery teams: Lead scientific method and execution. You will draw on them for technical credibility in market, coordinated through the Client Solutions Lead.
That said, you are joining a small commercial team, and as part of a dynamic start-up, we often work and support each other across roles. Flexibility in the role, and a focus on the effectiveness of the team as a whole, is critical. As and when needed, the Commercial Director and Client Solutions Lead will directly support major efforts (and get their hands dirty) at the top of the pipeline. Similarly, at times you may be called upon to support solution definition and scoping, and proposal preparation.
Join us if you're excited to
- Build from the ground up — run Renew's demand generation function end to end, not inherit a mature and long-running playbook.
- Work at the centre of the nature space — one of the fastest-evolving markets in sustainability.
- Shape our go-to-market — turn a technically complex proposition into a compelling market story.
- Win business, not just source it — build the engine, and close deals of your own.
- Navigate ambiguity — break down messy problems and execute with real autonomy.

What's required
- Bachelor's degree or above in a quantitative or analytically rigorous discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in roles that combine commercial instinct with marketing, demand generation, or business development craft.
- Demonstrated experience building or significantly scaling a marketing, growth, or demand generation function — ideally in an early-stage or high-growth environment.
- Experience in climate, nature, agri-tech, or broader sustainability-related businesses, with enough fluency in the space to be credible with sophisticated buyers.
- Experience working in the UK, and an existing network of relationships relevant to this role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to take a complex proposition, structure it, and communicate it in a way that moves decisions forward.
- Commercial sharpness and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to help generate and win business.
- Fluency with CRM and prospecting tooling, and the instinct to build process rather than simply work within it.
- Detail-oriented with highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and deliver across multiple workstreams.
- A data-driven mindset with an aptitude for both quantitative and qualitative analysis, and comfort measuring and iterating on what works.
- Comfort with the ambiguity and pace that come with building in an early-stage company.
Nice to have
- Exposure to B2B sales processes, particularly with enterprise customers in CPG, food and beverage, agriculture, forestry, or utilities.
- Familiarity with the nature and natural capital landscape — TNFD, CSRD/ESRS, SBTN, biodiversity credits, or related frameworks.
- Prior involvement in strategic partnership development or ecosystem-building.
- Background in ecology, environmental science, agronomy, or a related scientific discipline.
What you can expect from the role
- Full-time permanent position, based anywhere in the UK. The company operates a remote, flexible working environment. On an exceptional basis, candidates based in Europe but outside the UK may be considered, as long as they have UK experience and the ability to spend a significant amount of their time in the UK. Please note: we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
- Unusual scope and autonomy — the opportunity to build a function from scratch, in direct partnership with the Commercial Director and CEO, with a front-row seat to the strategic questions that will define Renew's trajectory. As the function proves out, there's real scope for it — and your role within it — to grow.
- AI-native tooling and leverage — you'll build and run this function on a modern commercial stack — including Clay, Claude, and Attio — giving you real leverage to operate lean, move fast, and scale by intelligence rather than headcount.
- Empowering culture and professional growth — join an environment that combines ambitious goals, real autonomy, and supportive mentoring, with a clear path for the role to grow as the commercial function scales.
