A bit about us.

Grind is a coffee company that lives in London. Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, we've expanded across London with cafés, coffee trucks and a state-of-the-art coffee roastery. Today, we serve millions of cups of coffee across London and the UK each year, and we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of people make better, more sustainable coffee at home. You’ll find our coffee beans, compostable coffee pods and ready-to-drink coffee cans in supermarkets across the UK and in hotels around the world.

Based in Shoreditch, we have a team of talented people working on everything from product development to finance, to customer experience. We’re looking for someone to join our growing team and help us in building the future of Grind.

We think coffee can be a force for good. Whether it's through creating the UK's first compostable coffee pods, our plastic-free packaging or carbon-free shipping - we're on a mission to be the world's most sustainable coffee company.

In 2023, we created our charity, the Better Coffee Foundation, to undo the damage done by the global coffee industry - in our first year, we recovered 43 million pods' worth of ocean-bound plastic.

A bit about the role.

We’re looking for a Commercial Insights Manager who can get under the skin of our data, understand what’s really driving performance and turn those insights into actions that make a commercial difference.

Working across our omnichannel business, you’ll bring together data from our High street, Grocery, DTC and B2B to help us understand what’s driving performance, where the opportunities are and where we should focus next. This isn’t a Finance role – you’ll work closely alongside FP&A, but your focus will be on digging into the data behind the numbers and translating it into clear, actionable commercial insight.

This is a role for someone who’s comfortable getting into the detail while seeing the bigger commercial picture. You’ll build meaningful reporting, uncover trends and opportunities, challenge assumptions and work across Grind to ensure insight drives decisions and future performance, rather than simply explaining what’s already happened.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

Role responsibilities.

  • Own and develop commercial performance reporting across Grind, bringing together data from our different channels to create a clear view of business performance.
  • Analyse sales, customer, product and channel data to identify trends, opportunities, risks and the key drivers behind performance.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting that give teams clear, accessible and actionable insight into their areas of the business.
  • Partner with teams across High street, Grocery, DTC and B2B to understand their commercial questions and turn data into practical recommendations.
  • Work closely with FP&A to connect commercial and customer performance with the financial picture, ensuring teams understand both what is happening and why.
  • Develop deeper insight into customer behaviour, including acquisition, retention, frequency, spend, product mix and performance across different customer groups and channels.
  • Support commercial decisions around pricing, promotions, ranging, product launches and campaigns through robust analysis and post-launch evaluation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance through customer segmentation, trend analysis, benchmarking and deeper investigation of commercial data.
  • Improve the quality, consistency and accessibility of commercial data and KPIs, working with relevant teams to establish clear definitions and trusted sources of information.
  • Proactively identify new questions, analyses and opportunities that can help Grind make faster, better-informed commercial decisions.

You’ll have.

  • Strong experience in commercial insights, business intelligence, analytics or a similar data-led role, ideally within an FMCG, consumer, retail or omnichannel business.
  • Excellent analytical skills and confidence working with large datasets, spotting patterns and turning complex information into clear commercial recommendations.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using data visualisation and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker or similar.
  • A strong understanding of commercial and customer KPIs, with experience analysing areas such as sales, customer behaviour, product performance, promotions or channel performance.
  • The ability to communicate insight clearly to non-technical stakeholders, turning data into a compelling story and practical actions rather than simply presenting numbers.
  • Strong commercial curiosity and the confidence to challenge assumptions, ask the right questions and investigate what is really driving performance.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and partnering with teams to solve commercial problems in a fast-moving environment.
  • Familiarity pipelining data from disparate sources - Ideally some SQL experience, particularly the ability to independently query and manipulate data, but it isn’t essential.
