Are you an experienced Commercial Account Handler looking to join a friendly, established brokerage where you can build genuine relationships with clients and become an important part of a close-knit team?
CKB Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly regarded independent commercial insurance broker based in Chester.
The business prides itself on providing a personal and approachable service, taking the time to understand each client’s operations and creating insurance programmes tailored to their individual requirements.
Due to continued growth, the company is now looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join its team.
The Opportunity
You will manage and support a varied portfolio of commercial insurance clients, handling their day-to-day requirements and ensuring they continue to receive a responsive, professional, and personal service.
- Working closely with Account Executives, insurers, and clients, you will be involved throughout the lifecycle of each policy, from renewal preparation and remarketing through to mid-term adjustments and general policy administration.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced team where you will be trusted to manage your workload, develop strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day requirements of a portfolio of commercial clients
- Preparing and processing policy renewals
- Obtaining quotations and negotiating terms with insurers
- Completing mid-term adjustments and policy amendments
- Producing accurate policy documentation
- Reviewing insurance requirements and identifying potential gaps in cover
- Supporting Account Executives with the management of their client portfolios
- Liaising with clients, insurers, and internal colleagues
- Maintaining accurate client records using the Acturis system
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with FCA requirements
- Providing a friendly, efficient, and professional service at all times
About You
You will ideally have previous experience working within commercial insurance broking and be comfortable handling a range of general commercial policies.

You Should Also Have
- Experience working as a Commercial Account Handler, Broker, or similar
- A good understanding of general commercial insurance products
- The ability to manage renewals, adjustments, and general client enquiries
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to manage your own workload and work effectively as part of a team
- A professional, approachable, and client-focused manner
- Previous experience using Acturis, which would be a strong advantage

Salary and Benefits
- Salary of £28,000 – £32,000, depending on experience
