Ready to take the next step without jumping straight into Account Executive?
Perhaps you're an experienced Commercial Account Handler, Client Manager or Account Manager who enjoys working closely with clients but doesn't want the pressure of chasing new business every day.
Or maybe you're already mentoring colleagues and would like the chance to develop your leadership skills while continuing to manage your own portfolio.
If so, this opportunity could be exactly what you've been waiting for.
CKB Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected and rapidly growing independent insurance broker that is continuing to invest heavily in its Commercial Division. Due to ongoing expansion, they have one final opportunity available for an experienced Commercial Account Manager who is looking to play a bigger role within the business.
This isn't your typical servicing position.
Alongside managing your own portfolio of commercial clients, you'll work closely with the Commercial Director, providing day-to-day support with team organisation, mentoring Client Managers and helping ensure the department continues to deliver an exceptional level of service.
It's an ideal stepping stone for someone who wants to develop leadership experience whilst remaining hands-on with clients.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
